I tap my black painted nails against the counter as I waited for my latte, Ignorance by Paramore playing through the earbud I had in my ear. I look back at my laptop, puckering my lips to the side as I debated on catching up on my "internship" or working on a new short story. I just shrug and take my latte with A slight nod, my brown hair falling into my face as I sat down. I look up as Sharla came in and gave a slight smile to me before she had to leave again. I plug my earbuds into my laptop and begin to type away, deciding work would be better since I had no muse for any story. Every now and then I would glance up just in case someone I knew would save me from the work piling up.

I smiled to the girl in the corner as I walked in, then I waved to one of my guy friends. He shot me a nod and I shook my head, waving him off. He was with his current girlfriends, Sabrina. I went up to the counter and ordered normal hazelnut coffee, my usual. My eyes roved over the small shack, and I groaned. No open tables, and I wasn't about to go interfere with my bud's date. I saw an empty seat by a pretty attractive brown haired girl, and she seemed pretty busy. Maybe I could bribe the other seat off of her. I grabbed my coffee and some creamer before heading to the table, putting on my best smile. "Hey." I said, nodding at her. "Waiting for someone?" I asked, placing my coffee in the table and opening the creamer and pouring it in, waiting for her answer.

I glance up as a guy walks to the table I was sitting at and shake my head. I continue writing on the website, hoping I could finish soon. "Uh, you can have the seat." I say quietly, my green eyes glancing up to him before focusing on the screen again. My arms stretch across the table and I sigh, reading over my work before taking a sip of my latte. I had no interest in what I wad doing, it was truly nothing but boring crap on paper. I save it before I close out of what I'm doing and kick my feet up into the chair with me, putting on my glasses as I pulled up a book on the screen. I hesitantly glance over at the guy, hoping there would be no real conversation between us. I didn't want to pry deep or have anyone pry into my life.

I took a sip of my coffee, making a satisfied noise after feeling the warmth. My buddy saw the girl I was sharing a table with and decided to make very rude gestures showing what I should do to her. Eventually, he turned around, leaving me with the girl. "So, hi." I said, giving a weak smile. She was really pretty, in that nerdy girl next door way. "I'm Romeo." I said, with my usual wit and charm. Usually girls loved it when I told them my name, hoping for a fairy tale. But she looked pretty uninterested. I cleared my throat and said, "That coffee looks good."

I looked back at the guy, giving a slight flick of my wrist for a wave in a wave before looking back at the screen. "I'm Juliet. Pleasure to meet you." I say as I glance at Romeo again. I finally turned off my laptop, guessing I should be polite and try to make some type of conversation. Closing the top, I begin to put it back into my bag before I glance over at him. "It is. But then again, I love coffee." I said, shrugging slightly. I took another sip, unsure of what to do. Never had I been one to like talking to strangers. Earlier, I hadn't noticed just how full the cafe was; now it was packed, barely able to hold another person. I glance back at Romeo, pulling my brown hair behind me to get it off my neck. He was breathtaking, but I'm sure he had girls for each day of the year. I wasn't going to be another.

She was obviously uninterested in anything that I had to say. But I was sure surprised when she turned out to be Juliet. I grinned and gave a sharp laugh. "Wow, what a coincidence meeting you here, my Juliet." I said, teasing her. This was just too good. Things started to look better when she decided to put up her electronic device, the one that had distracted her from me in the first place. Without the glare of the screen, she was beautiful. I smiled in spite of myself, trying to hold my attention what she was saying, but it was hard. "Uh huh, so what we're you doing on the laptop? Something interesting? Fun? Provocative?" I asked with a sly smile.

I roll my eyes but smile and shrug. Romeo had just met Juliet but this time she wasn't looking for a fairy tale. I swish my drink around before glancing over at Romeo again. My lips pucker to the side as I zone out for a second before I catch his question. I roll my eyes and giggle lightly before shaking my head. "You wish," I begin. "I was only doing a report for work." I say, taking a sip of my coffee. My eyes rove over him before turning in my chair, leaning my back against the wall. What did he want? I could tell there was something but I wouldn't jump to conclusions. I glance at my phone to read the time and sigh. Meeting in another two hours, wonderful. I really didn't want to get up to go there later.,

Even though she was playing hard to get, I could see her trying to hold herself back. But, maybe she was playing that too. I shrugged and winked at her, taking another sip of my coffee. She watched me carefully, as if she were examining me, and I gave her a few once overs. "Maybe so." I replied to her. "Report? What do you work as?" I asked, noticing her eyeing her watch. "Oh, do you need to go?" I pouted, a disappointed look on my face. I wanted to get to know her, she was different.

I catch his wink and don't respond to it, mainly unsure how. I begin to finger my gauges, looking around. Still many, many people. I shrug as he asks my occupation, my eyes still away from his. "Internship though I'm more like a secretary. Just don't get paid." I say, looking over at him for a second. Stupid internship had me poor and unable to think about anything else. Shaking my head, I take a sip of my coffee. "In an hour I will, but until then I'm free." I say, nearly hugging my coffee. I debate on getting up for seconds when I decide to wait. At least then I could get a cake pop as well. My phone rang my little text tone and I rolled my eyes, silencing it.

I laugh, interested in her slightly confused look. "You're not exactly responding to me flirting like one would normally do." I said, setting my coffee down on the table before letting out a sigh. I frowned. Work in general wasn't fun, fun and usually didn't pay enough. "Where do you have an internship at?" I asked, tilting my head slightly to the side. She had an hour before she left, and I inwardly grinned at myself. That gave me enough time to place my mark. I eyed her as she was obviously annoyed by her phone ringing. "Don't you want to answer that?" I asked with a smirk before grinning."Or would you rather answer a text that was sent by me?" I noticed the way she held her drink, as if it were her life line. "Really liking that coffee, huh?"
