I gather my hair into a stylishly messy bun, the plainum blonde was actually natural today- a rare happening. But, it was the beginning of fall so there wouldnt be anyone I had to impress at the pool- if there was anyone else at all. And, it was a Monday, so everyone was at school. Me? Skipping. I grab my towel and check the weather on my laptop one more time- about 90 degrees, a warm day for this time of year. I creep down the stairs and out the front door. Both my parents were at work and wouldnt get home until late, but I'd still hidden my bookbag in my closet. I start down the porch and down the road- the pool wasnt too long of a walk from my house. Luckily, I hadnt met anyone on the walk over- I'd stayed in the trees, anyway. I swing open the pool gate with a loud creak, walking down the side of the pool as if I owned the place. I flash the lifeguard a smile, almost laughing at his surprised face. I could feel his eyes on me as I walked by- probably on the tattoo on my lower back, as he'd blatantly admired the one on my right front hip. I lay out my puppy towel and lay down on it, tossing my expensive flip flops to the side. I pull a fashion magazine out of my bag, crossing my legs. Outfit: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=73431932

I groaned. Another Monday, one of my most hated things. Skipping sounded good, but if I got too many more my mom would get called. Wait--my mom? She's dead. I mean I would get a call. I sighed and gathered my wallet and phone before looking at the weather. Well, the T.V. was on, on what was I supposed to do? It was extremely hot. Swimming was the first thing that came to mind. Shrugging, I slipped on my black shorts and a t shirt, deciding to go barefoot. It was only a block away. When I was there, others were there too. Mostly women and their young children. But there was a girl around my age, or what was once my age. I eyed her before walking in. I sat in one of the chairs nearby, since I didn't bring a towel. I watched her, trying to place where I had seen her before.

I sigh, closing my magazine and tossing it to the side. I glance down, fiddling with my Love Pink top, why the hell had I decided on strapless? I swing my legs over the side of my pool chair, sitting up as I did so. My bright blue eyes rove around the pool, mostly mothers and their children, then a guy. I think I'd seen him around school, but I wasnt sure. I stand and walk over to the edge of the pool, dipping my foot in daintily. The water was cool, but definitely not freezing. I glance at the diving board and mentally shake my head- that was totally for show offs. I turn in the opposite direction and start over towards the walk in steps, passing the guy as I did so. I tuck a strand of blonde hair behind my ear, exposing my black widow tattoo to him as I did so. I plop myself down on the sidewalk, submerging my calves in, deciding to let the little kids hang around the stairs. I could deal.

I glanced at her long enough to see that she was bored of reading and was ready to get in the pool. I didn't exactly like swimming, but it was nice to get a look at the girls that usually came here on the weekends. So I guess I was lucky she came during the week so I wouldn't have only moms to look at. I watched as she stood up an looked longingly at the stairs, but little children already claimed that area. I watched as she strode close to the steps, showing her pretty sweet tattoo to me as she went. I put on my best smile and stood up to make my way to her. I sat down a few feet away, submerging my calves in the water. "So" I said, turning to look at her. "You look familiar."

I splay my fingers out on either side of me, leaning forward. I look over at him as he walks over, a nice smile on his lips. He was pretty hot, I had to give him that. I was sure I'd seen him around school, but we'd never spoken, never really ahd any interaction at all before today. "I've seen you around, at school." I reply casually, adding in a soft giggle at the end for flirtacious effect. I kick my feet around in the cool water, my blue eyes glancing at the little kids before roving around the pool. The lifeguard was busy glaring daggers at my new friend and I cant help but roll my eyes. As if I was interested in him in the first place. I was just being polite with the smile. He stared too much, that creepy perv. "Im Maribel, but you can call me Mari." I say, turning to face him slightly.

I nodded my head and made an approving sound. So that was where I've seen her. And obviously she'd seen me too. "Well, it's nice to see you out of school. I'm glad you're here. I didn't want to get stuck with the moms." I said, rolling my eyes, ignoring the disapproving glares pointing in our direction. "So why are you skipping anyway?" I asked. She seemed like one of the good girls, but ill admit, I judge pretty fast. I laughed when I noticed the lifeguard's glare. "Looks like I'm not appreciated by your friend over there." I said, tilting my head in his direction.

I laugh, rolling my eyes towards the clear blue sky before they return back to their normal position. "They'd probably he all over you. Fresh meat." I reply, a mischevious grin on my face. I shrug casually as he asks about why I was skipping. "Too nice of weather to be stuck in school. And, honestly, I hate it." I say, looking down for a moment before raising my eyes to meet his once more. "And Im pretty sure I had a chemistry test today." I add, giggling at myself. My mouth tightens into a unamused smile as he points out the unhappy lifeguard. "He's a fucking creep. Kept looking at my tats when I walked in." I say. shaking my head darkly.

I grinned. "Probably. I mean, kids really aren't my thing. I might offend one..." Moms could be worse than a wild, rabid, mad animal. And I didn't want to get into that. "Aha, so you're just trying to get out of a test? I am ashamed of you...what do you have to say for yourself?" I said, giving her a knowing look. I scoffed and glanced at the lifeguard once more. H really was getting creepy, trying to determine if he should glare at me or stare at her. I sighed and shook my head, turning the sigh into a kind of laugh. "Well, if you hadn't gotten them in such provocative places, guys wouldn't be interested in your wild side. We wouldn't have any unusual things to look at." I gave her a wink, splashing her with some water with my foot.

I roll my blue eyes, a small grin on my face giving me away. I defiantly shake my head. "No.. it only played a part." I reply, sticking out my tongue at him playfully. I kick my feet around languidly, looking at the small kids fumbling around, held up by brightly colored floaties and their mothers. I follow his gaze to the lifeguard, who was busy trying to decide which of us to focus his gaze on. I huff and shake my head. "Ha, yeah. Totally my fault for the pervy, horny lifeguard." I say sarcastically, squealing and cringing away as he kicks water at me. That crap was cold. "Whats your name, anyway? You got mine." I ask, flicking a drop of water at him playfully.

I smiled at her and sighed as I leaned back on my hands, easily moving my feet through the cool water. "Still, I'm surprised you're here, not that I'm ungrateful." I help beck my next comment, not wanting to judge her too quickly. "Well, for one, you're too attractive for your own good. You're going to get yourself into a lot of trouble." I said with a grim look. I laughed, getting out of my funk long enough to shake my head. "I don't think you want to be associated with me." I warned, giving her a knowing look.

I shrug my narrow shoulder slightly. I wasnt surprised at all, anyone who knew me wouldnt be surprised at all. I lean back so that my skin is pressed against the rough, warm concrete of the sidewalk ebside the pool, squinting against the bright sun that was hung in the clear fall sky above us. I huff and roll my eyes, shaking my head before crossing my arms over my chest defensively. "I'll take the for a compliment, and trouble follows me." I reply, glaring over at him defiantly. It was true, I did get into trouble alot, but I was better than some people. Such as all those kids on Scared Straight. "What if I do want to be?" I spit back, sitting back up before raising my eyebrows at him suggestively. He was really hot, I had to say, and could make fairly decent conversation.

I scoffed before glancing at her, unamused. She sure was persistent. I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Jude. Jude Rogers." I crossed my arms over my chest and kicked some more water. "Happy now?" I asked sullenly. People like her usually made me pretty mad, but for some reason I was having to force myself to dislike her. "Now if someone asks about me, you don't know me, okay? You'll just get hurt." I gave her a once over. Yeah, she wouldn't last long. I easily pushed myself over the edge of the pool, sliding into the cold water. I breached the surface and shook my head, getting my hair out of my eyes. I gave Mari a sly glance before grabbing her ankles quickly and dragging her in with me.

I smile brightly over at him as she tells me his name and I stick my hand out, barely managing to keep my face serious. "Mr.Rogers, what a lovely day in the neighborhood." I say before bursting out into giggles, covering my face with my hands. I used to watch the show all the time when I was little. I calm down as Jude's tone turns grim and I turn my electric blue gaze upon him again, nodding my head in confirmation. I didnt know why, but I wouldnt. He seemed to be serious. I run my hands through my unstyled blonde hair, taking my gaze off him for a moment to glance around the pool. In the instant my eyes are off him, Jude takes my ankles before pulling me into the water after him. I let out a squeal, falling against him. I stand up, glad I'd sat in the shallow end. I glower at him, ignoring the disapproving looks shot at us by the moms and the lifeguard, who finally finds his whistle. "No horsing around!" he calls. I look over at him, discreetly flipping him the bird, making sure to keep it out of sight of the toddlers.

I groaned and playfully tapped her on the shoulder. "That is such an old joke." I growled, grinning slyly. She wanted to play hard, we'd play hard. I grabbed her hips under the water, feeling the soft skin, her warmth. I suppressed a groan as I twisted her toward the deeper end, keeping an eye on the interrupting lifeguard. "You're a bad influence on the little kids." I said, putting my lips close to her ear. I chuckled before letting her go and disappearing not so well under the clear water, heading toward the deepest end, towards the diving board. I surfaced and watched her, laughing.

His hands appear on my hips, startling me just as much as when Jude pulled me towards the deep end. I squeal again, beating my hand limply at his chest before he finally releases me. "Oh, you know I am." I reply sarcastically, rolling my eyes as she tells me Im a 'bad infleunce'. I attempt to follow him through the water, but eventually give up on the endeavor and free my now wet blonde hair, shaking it out. I pull the crunchie over my hand and onto my wrist before submerging into the the cool water and stroking over to the metal stairs that led out of the pool. I kick my legs, unable to touch the bottom. I put my hands up on the concrete side, hoisting myself out of the water so Im sitting on the side once more- only farther down.
